COMMENTS:

I have gone from working in business, Libby Glass claims office in 70’s to being a stay at home mom in 80’s to teaching in 90’s to now working at University of Toledo, in College of Law as Secretary. I was lucky to stay home to raise my children and now I am happy working full time. Would like to work less hours so we can continue to travel more. We have vacationed in Paris, London, Edinburough, many places in Mexico including on Pacific coast, from east coast most summers with a rental home to many of the western states. Been on several cruises. We want to do an Alaskan and Mediterranean cruise next. I also keep busy with my garden club, Glass City Corvette Club and St Richard’s church. We have lived in the same house 27 years and have added many perennial gardens to the yard to keep something blooming throughout most of the year. I like to bike, walk and go to Lifestyles to work out. I hope to continue enjoying life, stay healthy and keep in touch with my classmates as much as I can.

Memories: My fondest memories are first experiencing Metamora as a freshman and it being so big to me coming from a class of 14 at St. Elizabeth’s. I remember band and marching around town to practice and people would sit in the yards to watch and a trip to Cedar Point to march down Main Street. Home Ec. was my favorite class and Mrs. Philips made it fun. I wanted to be a Home Ec. Teacher until I found out you had to take a lot of chemistry classes. I didn’t do well in Mr. Bitter’s science classes. I was not one of his favorites. I did have fun on his bike trips to Put-in-Bay, then the trips with Mrs. Philips to Chicago on the train and staying in the YMCA, and to Columbus for the FHA conventions. I hated the freshman initiation into GAA. We had to paint our fingers up to the first knuckle with polish and walk around school all day with a ruler taped to back of our leg so you could not bend it and wear something crazy that I don’t remember exactly. Then we had to crawl through gross food and other things after school. Many good memories of high school and all the friends we made. Not sure I was prepared for college and to live in the dorm there but my good upbringing got me through it all.
